Match Report: Elsecar Main JFC U11's 0-1 Brampton Reds U11's

The boys started very brightly as we'd spoke about pre-match and we had an awful lot of the ball in the first 15 minutes. Our pressing and tackling when we were out of possession was probably the best it's been so far this season and we really should have been two or even three goals to the good with the amount of pressure that we had and chances that we created.

Alfie Holmes hit the bar from the edge of the box early on and both Lucca Ciampracotti and Lewis Peachey looked dangerous when running at the opposition defence. Unfortunately though we couldn't capitalise on this pressure, but we continued to battle well throughout the first half as it remained goalless at half time.

Charlie Hollows looked comfortable in goal and very composed in what he had to do when asked to kick the ball clear from goal as well as making several good saves when he was forced into action. Throughout the 2nd half both sides attacked and went for the victory but a lapse of concentration on our part allowed the visitors a shot on goal that was too much for us to keep out five minutes from time that allowed the visitors a 1-0 victory.

The boys need to work on passing the ball in the final third of the pitch and having confidence in our team mates to pass to them for us to get a shot on goal. The message is undoubtedly the same - team work, work hard and we will get our rewards. Final league game of the season this season - come on Elsecar!!!!
